ALBANY, NY – Assemblyman Phil Palmesano says, one thing that’s slowing down budget talks, is the State Democrat State Senate Leader Andrea Stewart Cousins, and State Assembly Democrat Speaker Carl Heastie, not wanting to go along with the governor on changing bail reform. “That needs to be addressed, it’s long passed due,” said Palmesano. “Hopefully, they can figure it out and do the right thing, but I don’t have any optimism based on the way they’ve been operating, favoring the criminal over law abiding citizens, crime victims over public safety. That’s unfortunate,” Palmesano stated.
