April 6: Another Covid-19 Death In Hornell

April 6, 2020

From The Steuben Co Health Dept:

The Steuben County Public Health Department received notification of the death of an individual who previously tested positive for COVID-19. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in Steuben County to four. The individual was an 89 year old female who died at a nursing home in the Hornell area after being hospitalized.

“We are extremely saddened over the death of another Steuben County resident,” said Public Health Director, Darlene Smith. “The actions the community takes now to slow the spread of COVID-19 will show in the total number of cases and deaths we see. Help us limit the devastation by staying home and staying safe.”

All residents should continue to stay home and monitor themselves for COVID-19 symptoms of fever, cough and shortness of breath and contact their healthcare provider for instructions if feeling ill.
