State Police Investigate Report Of Man Having Gun On Him At the Arnot Mall

BIG FLATS, NY – State Police say that at about 10am this morning, troopers were contacted about a man who may have had a gun on him, at the Arnot Mall.
According to state police, it was determined that a subject was acting suspiciously inside of the Mall and was in possession of an unknown object that initially appeared to be a gun. Troopers say that the man had fled on foot towards the Hampton Inn, adjacent to the Mall and entered a room inside the hotel. He was found, taken into custody and ultimately transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital for a Mental Health Evaluation.
It was determined that the subject was not in possession of a weapon.
The identity of the subject is not being released due to HIPAA restrictions.
